Candy emigrated from Macau in 1993. She is an Asian counsellor and Cognitive Behaviour Therapist with extensive experiences (19 years). Candy is a founder and practitioner of Vagus Centre to provide family harmony services. She has been working as student counsellor at University of Auckland since 1997. She also owns a private practice.She is also a contracted counsellor for Waitemata Health PHO, Auckland PHO, National Hauora Coalition PHO and Vague Centre (Chinese mental Health Consultation service); working with patients referred by GPs. Candy is a registered ACC counsellor both in Sexual abuse and Physical Injury & mental Trauma.

Patrick Au is a migrant from Hong Kong. He came to New Zealand in 1991.
In his professional role as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Patrick has been practising in the Mental Health systems, both in Hong Kong and Auckland, for over 30 years, . Following his completion of a Master’s Degree of Education with First Class Honours in Counselling from the University of Auckland in 1999, Patrick is also concurrently running a private Counselling practice. He is a full Member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (MNZAC) and the New Zealand Association of Family Therapy (NZAFT). Patrick is one of the founding members of Vagus Centre.
In his Counselling practice, Patrick has a special interest in working with young Asian people (including the International students), he also enjoys working with couples and families. Patrick is a Ministry of Justice and Department of Corrections Approved Stopping Violence Provider and a qualified Family Court Counsellor. Patrick also has an extensive experience working with Asian people who were involved with the justice and corrections systems.
Patrick is active in providing workshops for the mainstream mental health providers. He also provides training workshops for tertiary training institutes such as Universities and Government Agencies.

Ray was born in Hong Kong and speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin. He is a registered social worker (New Zealand). He received his Master Degree in Social Work (Professional) from the University of Auckland and a Master Degree in Counselling from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling and Psychology from the Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
With more than 15 years of experience working with families and couple in the community and education sector, he will assess every situation and applies appropriate approaches to individual and couple counselling.

Mandy Shek came from Hong Kong. She obtained a bachelor degree in Social work (Honours) from City University of Hong Kong. She also graduated as a Master of Arts in Family Counselling and Family Education from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has counselling work experiences for more than 14 years. She is a registered social worker (SWRB, NZ).
Mandy applies Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and other relevant framework in working with individual, couple and family. She believes that clients have strengths and potential resources to change their lives. She also emphasis on client-centred approach to empower clients.
Mandy can speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
